Muslims in the West have largely been threatened to tow the government’s line and to echo its messages of deradicalisation and they are often reminded of Prevent and their interference if they make an Islamic stance. The Islamic objective, whether East or West remains one. Muslims need to be confident in carrying the Islamic objective to the Muslim community and wider society.
